Beyoncé is venturing into the spirits world with SirDavis Whisky, a new American whisky inspired by her great-grandfather, Davis Hogue. Hogue, a Prohibition-era moonshiner, hid bottles of his whisky in cedar trees for friends to find and enjoy. Four generations later, Beyoncé honors this tradition with a whisky that combines her love for the spirit and her family’s legacy.
Named after her great-grandfather, SirDavis Whisky is crafted in Texas and represents Moët Hennessy’s first fully U.S.-developed spirit. The whisky features a distinctive blend of 51% rye and 49% malted barley, refined by Dr. Bill Lumsden, known for his expertise in whisky-making. The result is a smooth, spicy, and subtly sweet profile, with additional depth from secondary maturation in sherry casks.
SirDavis Whisky has already earned accolades, winning Best in Class for American Whisky at the 2023 SIP Awards. The bottle design reflects Beyoncé’s touch, with sleek curves and a black medallion adorned with a bronzed horse.
Available for pre-order at SirDavis.com for $89 USD, SirDavis Whisky will hit shelves in the U.S., and select airports and stores in London, Paris, and Tokyo starting September 2024.
