Lionsgate has partnered with rapper and TV mogul Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson to launch a new free ad-supported streaming channel, *50 Cent Action*. This channel will feature a premium selection of content from Lionsgate’s extensive library, including the popular *Power* series and action films such as *The Expendables*, *The Hitman’s Bodyguard*, and *Rambo*. Additionally, the channel will showcase over a dozen films starring Jackson himself.
Under the deal, Lionsgate will collaborate with Jackson to promote and curate content for the channel. “50 Cent’s movies and television series are synonymous with non-stop action, and we’re thrilled to extend our longstanding partnership into the FAST space,” said Jim Packer, Lionsgate’s President of Worldwide Television Distribution.
Jackson will contribute through his G-Unit Film and Television and G-Unit Studios banners, bringing his expertise to the new channel. “This channel will bring diverse, action-packed content to audiences everywhere, reflecting my passion for storytelling and providing a platform for fresh, dynamic voices,” Jackson commented. “I look forward to working closely with all the FAST platforms to make this a successful channel.”
In a cover story for The Hollywood Reporter, Jackson emphasized the channel’s extensive action movie library and his commitment to high-quality content. “Give me one year and I’ll be ranked the highest FAST channel,” he asserted.
Lionsgate has already launched around two dozen FAST channels globally, including *Ebony TV* and *MovieSphere*. The studio sees potential for growth in the FAST market, noting that channels targeting Black audiences currently make up just 2% of all FAST channels in the U.S., despite African Americans representing 14% of the population.
50 Cent is represented by Independent Artist Group and attorney Stephen Savva.
