Will Fan: “We “Will” and we can create greater positive change by adopting Sustainability.”

Changing the world one day at a time, Will Fan, a highly skilled and awarded EV entrepreneur, TEDx Speaker, Sustainability VC, and much more, shares his opinion on the purpose of sustainability and how it can be profitable.

Over the years, the world has already seen an influx of business owners who have only focused on their personal wins and growth. How often have we heard about those who chose to walk on unconventional paths and, through their work, add more value to people’s lives in ways more than one? The world of entrepreneurship is a crazy place to be, they say, because the path to creating ground-breaking success is not an everyday thing.

However, serial entrepreneurs and venture capitalists like Will Fan have been challenging the status quo, creating their own norms, and building a solid foundation of success for other up-and-comers to take inspiration from.

Will Fan is the brain behind several highly successful businesses like EMobily, Nexpress, and more, immersing himself in the tech world as an EV lover, enthusiast, and pioneering entrepreneur with phenomenal ideas to make this world a better place by optimizing sustainability. He is a 3X Tech Founder and CEO, a TEDx Speaker, a G20 Canadian Delegate, a Sustainability VC, an Executive Leader, and the list goes on with several other accolades and recognitions.

The passionate serial entrepreneur based in Canada has to his credit the deployment of electric scooters, smaller delivery vehicles, and several different forms of urban mobility in Vancouver and many other major cities.

Speaking on one of his favorite aspects of entrepreneurship – Sustainability, Will Fan says it is the most crucial aspect today for smart cities, emphasizing the importance of producing renewable energy solutions. Going further, he also shares his opinion on the purpose of sustainability and how it can be profitable.

“Climate change and its devastating effects have been long caused by significant waste generation, production of Greenhouse Gases (GHG), and inefficient water and energy use. The UN adopted 17 SDGs (sustainability goals) in 2015, and among them, four are relevant to the manufacturing process, like Clean water and sanitation, Climate action, Affordable and clean energy, and Responsible consumption and production,” mentions Mr. Fan.

Several entrepreneurs, he says, that have used the SDGs as the basis for their sustainability initiatives have found this excellent for business, making sustainability profitable through optimized processes like Reducing cost and waste, Enhance product, employee, and community safety, Minimize grave environmental impacts, and Conserve energy and natural resources.

So, how can sustainability be profitable?

Mr. Fan asserts this can be done through initiatives like using and sourcing alternative sustainable materials, which improves varied processes and operations, reduces costs and waste, and becomes more efficient. Companies must adopt a “sustainable profitability” business model to make this possible.

The serial hi-tech, multifaceted entrepreneur and a key opinion leader in the EV sector is looking forward to starting many more meaningful business ventures, keeping sustainability at the core, creating real value, and building real businesses and real long-term relationships.
