Born in Vereeniging, South Africa in 1969, Tony De Gouveia’s journey to success is one filled with resilience, adaptation, and a profound transformation in leadership style. Tony’s story is not just about personal achievement but also about empowering others through disruptive entrepreneurship and servant leadership.

Tony’s early years were marked by hard work, starting at the age of twelve when he helped out in his family’s café after school. His father instilled a strong work ethic, discipline, teaching Tony the ropes of business from a young age. After completing school as a high achiever, Tony pursued a degree in chartered accountancy but soon realized that a desk job wasn’t his passion. He yearned for a career where he could engage with people and customers directly.

This realization led him back to the family business, where he took the reins at the age of 22. Together with nine other entrepreneurs, Tony co-founded The SUPERLINER buying group that later evolved into the renowned RightValue brand, eventually acquired by Pick n Pay and became the Pick ’n Pay Mini Market brand. His journey in retail lasted for two decades, with Tony managing multiple Pick ’n Pay, SPAR, and Blockbusters franchises.

However, as the market evolved and Tony’s own interests shifted, he recognized the need for change. The traditional retail environment was no longer fulfilling, and he sought new horizons.

In 2010, Tony embarked on a new adventure in network marketing. It was a stark departure from his previous career, and the initial years were marked by challenges and a steep learning curve. One of the most significant realizations was that network marketing isn’t just about making sales; it’s about building a team of dedicated individuals who share your vision.

Tony had to transition from being a retail entrepreneur who told people what to do to a network marketer who showed people what needed to be done. In this industry, there are no employees; you have a volunteer army that follows your lead. This shift in mindset was crucial for Tony’s success.

One of the pivotal moments in Tony’s journey was the realization that his leadership style needed a radical shift. He needed to embrace servant leadership – a style that emphasized humility, empathy, and empowering others. This leadership approach allowed him to move from being in the spotlight to being at the center of his team, guiding them in the right direction without imposing his will.

This change in leadership style, inspired by figures like Gandhi and Jesus, enabled Tony to develop a team of strong, independent leaders. Instead of doing things for his team members, he empowered them with the necessary skills to excel on their own. This approach fostered a culture of continuous improvement and self-reliance within his organization.

Around 2017, Tony began to witness the true power of network marketing. His team started to grow exponentially, and by 2018, he had built a team of 100,000 people in this industry, later transitioning to GSP with his team. The ability to create a thriving team allowed Tony to experience the essence of network marketing – the freedom of choice, time, and income.

His success was not about being the singular superstar but about identifying, mentoring, and developing other leaders within his team. This approach led to his team members achieving their financial goals and attaining leadership positions. Tony became the spark that ignited the fire within his team members, propelling them to new heights.

Throughout his journey, Tony recognized that network marketing truly embodies the concept of “The Ultimate Business.” It offers unparalleled freedom, both in terms of income and time. This realization led Tony to create the brand TUB, which stands for The Ultimate Business. It became the embodiment of his vision for network marketing.

Today, Tony’s focus is on expanding his brand and sharing his story. He aims to increase brand awareness and drive traffic to his website, where he continues to inspire and educate aspiring entrepreneurs about the opportunities in network marketing and the power of servant leadership.

Tony De Gouveia’s journey is a testament to the transformational power of adopting the right mindset and leadership style. His story serves as an inspiration to those seeking to break free from traditional career paths and embrace the world of network marketing. Through disruptive entrepreneurship and servant leadership, Tony continues to make a profound impact on the lives of countless individuals, helping them achieve financial independence and personal growth.
