Starbucks, renowned for its innovative product launches, has unveiled a unique creation in its top overseas market, China. Just in time for the Lunar New Year, the coffee giant has introduced the Abundant Year Savory Latte, blending pork and espresso flavors, as reported by CNN Business.

The Abundant Year Savory Latte, priced at 68 yuan ($9.45), features Dongpo Braised Pork Flavor Sauce combined with espresso and steamed milk, topped with additional pork sauce and pork breast meat, according to details provided on the Starbucks delivery app.

With over 6,500 stores spanning across 250 cities in mainland China and a workforce exceeding 60,000 employees, Starbucks maintains a significant presence in the country, catering to a diverse consumer base.

The introduction of the pork-infused latte has sparked conversations on Chinese social media platforms. The topic garnered over 476,000 views on Weibo, eliciting mixed reactions from users. While some expressed reservations about the combination of pork and coffee, citing concerns about taste and cost, others viewed it as an intriguing culinary innovation.

Starbucks continues to push the boundaries of flavor profiles and consumer preferences with its inventive offerings, catering to the diverse tastes of its global audience.
