SiriusXM is debuting a subscription service for its popular podcasts through Apple Podcasts, starting August 5. The new service, SiriusXM Podcasts+, offers listeners an ad-free experience, exclusive bonus content, and early access to episodes.
The subscription will feature a range of top shows, including *SmartLess*, *99% Invisible*, *Literally! With Rob Lowe*, *Freakonomics Radio Network*, *Last Podcast on the Left*, *The Joel Osteen Podcast*, *Busted Open*, *The Bonfire With Big Jay Oakerson and Robert Kelly*, and *Andy Cohen’s Daddy Diaries Podcast*. Subscribers can access this premium content for $5.99 per month or $44.99 annually.
Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM’s President and Chief Content Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the launch: “As the leading audio entertainment company in North America, we are excited to expand our audience reach with SiriusXM Podcasts+. This offering gives podcast enthusiasts the chance to subscribe to premium content from some of the most popular podcasts on our network, right through Apple Podcasts.” He added that the service aims to attract new listeners, provide added value for creators, and enhance the SiriusXM app with premium content.
In addition to the Apple Podcasts subscription, many of these shows are also available directly to SiriusXM app subscribers.
The announcement follows SiriusXM’s January deal worth over $100 million with *SmartLess*, which brought the podcast from Wondery to SiriusXM.
