Model Name: The Wizard of Oz x Nike SB Dunk Low
    Colorway: Varsity Red/University Gold
    SKU: FZ1291-600
    MSRP: $135 USD
Release Date: December 19 (Select Skate Shops), December 23 (SNKRS)
    Where to Buy: Nike

    Update: December 11, 2024
Nike SB has officially unveiled their long-awaited collaboration with The Wizard of Oz, bringing the beloved tale to life through a vibrant new iteration of the SB Dunk Low. Inspired by the iconic poppy field scene from the 1939 film, the new colorway combines rich tones of red, yellow, and gold for a striking design. The sneaker, priced at $135 USD, will hit select skate shops on December 19, followed by a wider release via Nike SNKRS on December 23.

The collaboration draws direct inspiration from the magical world of Oz, featuring a vivid poppy field-inspired upper that transitions seamlessly between floral patterns and bright hues. Beneath the floral layers, Nike has added a unique twist: a tearaway design that reveals a “Red Ruby Slipper” underlayer, reminiscent of Dorothy’s famous footwear. The intricate details include the words “No place like home” stitched in gold thread on the heel, a reference to the beloved line from the film. Additionally, the Wicked Witch of the West appears at the sockliner, adding another layer of thematic depth to the design.

This drop follows the release of a similar “Dorothy” SB Dunk Low in 2015, marking the second time the SB Dunk Low has drawn inspiration from the Wizard of Oz franchise. Fans of both the classic film and Nike SB will want to grab these limited-edition sneakers, which are expected to turn heads with their bold color composition and playful homage to one of the most famous fantasy stories ever told.

    Key Details

    • Upper Design: Poppy field-inspired pattern with vibrant red, orange, yellow, green, and black hues.
    • Tearaway Feature: Beneath the floral design, a “Red Ruby Slipper” underlayer is revealed.
    • Gold Stitching: The phrase “No place like home” appears at the heel.
    • Sockliner Detail: The Wicked Witch of the West graphic.
