Meta has launched AI Studio in the U.S., allowing Instagram creators and users to craft personalized AI bots. This new tool lets users with creator accounts on Instagram design AI characters that can interact with followers, answering common questions, linking to posts and products, and providing facts about the creator. These AI bots can also be tailored to avoid certain topics.

For personal accounts, users can create more basic AI bots that offer cooking tips, assist with Instagram captions, and generate memes. These AI characters can be used across Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp.

This launch is part of Meta’s broader AI strategy. CEO Mark Zuckerberg has expressed ambition for Meta to lead in AI development, highlighting the company’s advancements in AI models and their potential to enhance social and commerce products. The new AI Studio builds on previous innovations like Meta AI, which provides assistance and creates animations within Meta’s apps.
