Microsoft has announced its latest innovation in personal computing with the introduction of Copilot+ PC, a new category of AI-driven devices featuring Snapdragon’s X Series chips. Additionally, the tech giant has revealed updates to its Surface line, including a new Surface Laptop and Surface Pro tablet, heralded as the “fastest, most intelligent Windows PCs ever.”

Building on its legacy of pioneering the “2-in-1” PC concept over a decade ago, Microsoft’s new Surface Pro boasts significant advancements. With performance boosted by up to 90% compared to its predecessor, the Surface Pro integrates Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus processors for unparalleled speed. Its 13-inch display supports connection to three external 4K displays, alongside two USB 4 ports and Wi-Fi 7 for rapid connectivity. Moreover, the device features Surface’s most advanced cameras yet, including a 10MP Ultra HD rear camera capable of capturing 4K video and an ultra-wide, quad-HD selfie camera.

Meanwhile, the Surface Laptop has undergone a comprehensive redesign, offering a sleek and modern aesthetic. Featuring a 120Hz screen with HDR technology and Dolby Vision IQ, the Surface Laptop delivers vibrant colors and adaptive color technology. Available in 13.8-inch and 15-inch sizes, with a choice of four finishes, the device promises unprecedented speed and performance, surpassing even Apple’s latest MacBook Air.

Both the new Surface Pro and Surface Laptop are optimized to leverage the capabilities of Microsoft’s reengineered Windows 11 operating system and Snapdragon’s X Series chips. Pre-orders for these devices are now available directly through Microsoft, with prices starting at £1,049 GBP / $999 USD. They are set to hit select Microsoft retailers on June 18.
