Interviewer: Good evening, Hélène. Thank you for joining us. Can you tell us about the incident that led you to file a complaint against Gérard Depardieu?
Hélène Darras: Good evening. Yes, I can. It happened on the set of the 2007 film ‘Disco.’ I was 26 years old at the time and had a walk-on role as a dance competition contestant. Depardieu, who had a supporting role in the film, harassed me. He looked at me as if I were a piece of meat and then passed his hand over my hips and buttocks.
Interviewer: Why did you decide to come forward with these allegations now?
Hélène Darras: I didn’t report the incident at the time out of fear for my future career. I was just starting out, and I didn’t want to be blacklisted at 26. But now, I feel it’s important to speak out and hold him accountable for his actions.
Interviewer: How do you feel about the support you’ve received since coming forward?
Hélène Darras: It’s been overwhelming. I’ve received a lot of support, and it’s given me the strength to pursue this complaint.
Interviewer: What do you hope will come out of this complaint?
Hélène Darras: I hope that by speaking out, I can encourage others to do the same and bring about a change in the industry. No one should have to endure such behavior, and those responsible should be held accountable.
Interviewer: Thank you for sharing your story with us, Hélène. We appreciate your courage in coming forward.
Hélène Darras: Thank you for having me.
