Porsche Singapore has electrified the automotive scene with the grand unveiling of its refreshed all-electric Taycan lineup at the historic Pasir Panjang Power Station. The event, a multisensory spectacle, highlighted Porsche’s latest advancements in electric vehicle technology and introduced the world to a bespoke creation, the Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade.
The 2024 Taycan lineup signifies a major leap forward in performance, efficiency, and design. With seven variants now available, including the versatile Taycan Cross Turismo, this new lineup showcases enhancements that build upon the solid foundation laid by its predecessor. Key upgrades include:
– Increased Range:The Taycan now boasts an impressive driving range of up to 678 kilometers on a single charge, representing a 35 percent improvement over the previous generation.
– Enhanced Performance: The new Taycan models feature more powerful electric motors and quicker acceleration. The Taycan Turbo S, for example, can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.4 seconds.
– Design Updates: The Taycan lineup sports new front and rear styling and HD matrix headlights with Porsche’s signature four-point lighting. Inside, the models come equipped with adaptive air suspension, a BOSE surround sound system, and the Porsche Intelligent Range Manager (PIRM).
Hannes Ruoff, CEO of Porsche Asia Pacific, emphasized the significance of these upgrades, stating, “We are setting a new benchmark for all-electric sports sedans, not just in terms of performance but in offering a unique ownership journey with charging benefits and our new Porsche Privilege programme.”
The highlight of the evening was the world premiere of the Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade, a one-off creation born from Porsche’s Sonderwunsch program. This exclusive model features a groundbreaking blend of ChromaFlair paints — “Urban Bamboo,” a bright green with gold tones, and “Shifting Carbon,” a deep grey with blue undertones. The paintwork, which took over 80 hours to create, shifts colors across eight different blend points depending on the angle of view.
Additional bespoke elements include the “LongMa” logo, a mythical symbol of power in Asian culture, adorning the car’s door sill guards and headrests. The Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade also features exclusive carbon-weave finish components on the front bumper and wheels, further enhancing its distinctive appearance.
Alexander Fabig, Vice President of Individualisation and Classic at Porsche, shared insights into the Celestial Jade’s design, noting, “It’s the very first time that we have two Chromaflair colors fading into one another. We’ve also integrated Chromaflair into the clear coat of the carbon fiber exterior parts and combined two leathers, English Green and Slate Grey, through the Leather to Sample (LTS) offering.”
The refreshed Taycan models will be available in Singapore starting at SGD 392,007, with deliveries expected to begin at the end of 2024. As part of the Porsche Destination Charging Network, Porsche is offering three years of complimentary charging at 130 locations across Singapore.
The Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade will be showcased privately at Porsche Studio Singapore before embarking on a Southeast Asian tour, with stops in Malaysia and Thailand. This bespoke model represents a tribute to Porsche’s innovation and Southeast Asia’s rich cultural heritage.
Porsche Singapore’s commitment to blending tradition with innovation is further evidenced by the upcoming Porsche Experience Center (PEC), which will feature a two-kilometer dynamic handling track and a fully integrated high-capacity Aftersales facility — a first of its kind.
As Porsche continues to push boundaries with its vehicle designs and experiential offerings, it solidifies its position as a leader in luxury automotive innovation in the region.
