Continuing their partnership, The Weeknd and Blue Bottle, the Australian coffee purveyor, have introduced two new offerings under their collaboration, Samra Origins. Named after The Weeknd’s mother, this collaboration initially unveiled an instant hot coffee and cold brew, accompanied by official merchandise.

The latest additions, Samra Origins Single Origin Vol. 1 and Samra Origins Single Origin Vol. 2, feature beans sourced from the Hambela Estate in Ethiopia. Vol. 1 presents a naturally processed bean, delivering a bold, fruity flavor, while Vol. 2 offers a cleaner, lighter experience as it is washed, stripping away the organic matter of the coffee bean with water.

Expressing his pride in the partnership, The Weeknd emphasized the significance of Ethiopian culture in shaping his identity and values. He shared, “Growing up, I watched my mother perform Buna Tetu, a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony. This sensory experience helped shape my understanding of community and taught me to always honor my roots.” He further highlighted the importance of Samra Origins as a passion project, aiming to inspire curiosity, support for Ethiopia’s people, and the warmth and friendship deeply embedded in Ethiopian culture.

The Samra Origins Single Origin Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 will be available for purchase online starting Monday, December 4, priced at $22 USD per bag.
