AJ McLean, a member of the popular boy band Backstreet Boys, has opened up about the importance of setting boundaries between his onstage persona and his real self. In an exclusive interview with E! News, AJ, whose real name is Alexander James McLean, revealed that he practices “turning off AJ and letting him live in the world of Backstreet” once he’s off the stage.

According to AJ, he has learned that his persona as AJ is just a part of his job, while Alex represents who he truly is. He emphasized that he values his self-worth and recognizes the distinction between his public image and his personal life. When he’s not performing, AJ focuses on being a husband, a father to his daughters Elliott and Lyric, and a friend.

Since implementing this separation between his persona and his real self, AJ has found himself much happier than ever before. He also expressed pride in the fact that a new generation of Backstreet Boys fans has emerged, including his own children and their friends.

AJ considers fatherhood to be the best job in the world and finds it incredibly rewarding. He loves his daughters immensely and cherishes the bond they share. However, he mentioned that his upcoming concert vacation, “Backstreet’s Back to the Beach,” in Cancun, Mexico, is not suitable for children. While AJ won’t be consuming alcoholic beverages during the trip, he assured fans that he plans to have a great time and let loose.

In conclusion, AJ McLean of Backstreet Boys has found a healthy balance between his onstage persona and his real self, allowing him to lead a fulfilling personal life while still enjoying his career.
