Leadership Voices: The Thinking Behind Boxing’s Biggest Trading Partnership

Queensberry and GNT leadership on what earned a modest trial a much larger, multi-year commitment.

Every long-term partnership eventually comes down to two people deciding it’s still worth the effort. For Global Next Trade and Queensberry Promotions, that moment arrived in January 2026, when both organisations agreed to significantly expand a relationship that had started back in the spring of 2025 as a modest, eight-event trial.

Edward Hall, Queensberry’s Head of Partnerships, is direct about what earned the extension. “We are delighted to extend our partnership with Global Next Trade, particularly during a crucial time for Queensberry as we continue to build on our global reach,” he said. He goes further, crediting the relationship with concrete impact rather than symbolic value: “Our partnership has firmly established Global Next Trade as a leading brand in global boxing while playing a key role in Queensberry’s success in delivering some of the sport’s biggest nights to fans around the world.”

A Shared Emphasis on Global Reach

That emphasis on global reach isn’t incidental. It’s a theme Queensberry’s founder, Frank Warren, returns to often when describing how the promotion has changed over the years he’s been running it. “Promotion has changed massively,” Warren has said. “Back when I started it was all about posters and newspaper coverage to get the word out about a show. Now with the touch of a button, Queensberry can reach millions of fans, not just across Europe but all over the world. We can build excitement, tell the story behind a fight and take fans on that journey with us.”

It’s inside that expanded, always-on media environment that GNT’s presence at ringside has grown well beyond its original scope, now backed by a fresh fifteen-event commitment running through 2026 and into 2027.

Hall’s closing note on the renewal looks forward rather than back. “As we take our relationship to the next level, we look forward to building on this success and continuing to deliver exceptional outcomes together,” he said. Two organisations from very different industries, combat sport and financial trading, sharing an appetite to keep building rather than simply renew is, in its own way, a more interesting leadership story than the branding numbers on their own.
