To capture this celestial wonder, Rolls-Royce has developed a complex holographic paint finish that delivers a stunning technicolor effect. The creation of the Lunaflair paint was a meticulous year-long process involving extensive experimentation with paint chemistry, application techniques, and base coats. The final finish consists of seven layers of lacquer, including a pearlescent coat enhanced with magnesium fluoride and aluminum flakes, resulting in a mesmerizing visual experience.
The concept for the Spectre Lunaflair was inspired by a previous Rolls-Royce masterpiece, the Phantom Syntopia, known for its iridescent Liquid Noir finish. The commissioning client desired a lighter, more luminous expression, which led to the birth of the Lunaflair design.
Inside the Spectre Lunaflair, the lunar halo theme continues with a custom interior featuring Navy Blue, White, and Peony Pink accents. These colors adorn the seats, doors, and the signature Starlight Headliner, creating an ethereal atmosphere. The dual-tone steering wheel further enhances the luxury experience, showcasing Navy Blue on the outside and Arctic White on the inside.
