Blake Lively is venturing into the beauty industry with her new brand, Blake Brown, which will debut at Target stores and online on August 4. The hair care collection, priced between $19 and $25, includes eight products designed to nourish, rehydrate, and strengthen hair while offering gentle cleansing. The lineup features both liquid and dry shampoos, hair masks for pre- and post-washing, leave-in conditioner, and styling mousse.
Blake Brown’s formulas are crafted with a proprietary plant protein complex aimed at reducing frizz and enhancing shine. The products boast fragrances like vanilla, amber, blackcurrant, fig, cardamom, and sandalwood, reflecting Lively’s preference for scents that could double as high-end perfumes.
The vegan formulas are free from sulfates, silicones, parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), synthetic dyes, and mineral oils. The packaging, designed to be both beautiful and sustainable, is made from recycled materials and features a metallic honeycomb-like design. Lively emphasizes her commitment to creating a product that combines salon-quality performance with affordability, making no compromises on quality or sustainability.
In her Instagram post, Lively explains her motivation: “I wanted something that was more affordable but had the same salon/red carpet performance. I didn’t want to compromise on quality or sustainability. It was a beast to build, but we made it happen.”
Blake Brown, developed in partnership with Give Back Beauty, the same incubator behind Millie Bobby Brown’s Florence by Mills, marks Lively’s second foray into the consumer goods market. The line pays tribute to Lively’s late father, Ernie Lively, who took his wife’s last name when they married.
Corrado Brondi, founder of Give Back Beauty, praised Lively’s involvement, noting, “Blake’s drive, purpose, and instincts in developing this brand were unmatched. Every aspect of Blake Brown reflects her personal touch and commitment to excellence.”
